As preparations continue for the opening of W Manchester and W Residences at St Michael’s in 2027, Marriott International has appointed Alok Dixit as General Manager.
Alok brings more than 26 years of hospitality leadership to the project, joining from London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, where he successfully led a significant transformation of the property. His experience spans several other prominent hotels, including London Marriott Regents Park and The London EDITION.
Alok’s appointment comes as construction progresses on the second phase of St Michael’s, a joint development by Relentless Developments and Salboy. The scheme includes a 43-storey tower that will house the 162-room W Hotel and 217 W Residences, alongside 75,000 sq ft of premium office space.

Alok commented: “I am thrilled to be joining W Manchester and W Residences and to be part of bringing such an exciting new destination to life. Manchester is one of the UK’s most dynamic cities, and I look forward to working with our team and partners to create a destination that reflects its energy, creativity and global appeal.”
Set to open in 2027, the arrival of W Manchester and W Residences in Manchester marks the introduction of the W Hotels brand in the city. Bringing together bold design, elevated hospitality and branded residences, they will offer a distinctive new luxury experience for both visitors and local residents, reinforcing Manchester’s growing reputation as a world-class destination for business, culture and leisure.
Gary Neville, Director of Relentless Developments, added: “Bringing W to Manchester is a huge moment for St Michael’s and for the city. We’ve always wanted this development to create something that feels genuinely international while still being rooted in Manchester, and Alok shares that ambition. His experience, energy and understanding of what it takes to deliver exceptional hospitality make him a fantastic addition to the team. We’re at an exciting point in the project now, and I’m looking forward to seeing Alok and the wider team bring W Manchester and W Residences to life.”
