Rudy’s Pizza
A relaxed neighbourhood pizzeria, RUDYS PIZZA has made its name for itself by serving traditional Neapolitain pizza and great spritzes to happy customers for the past 6 years.
Foundation Coffee House
For a good brunch and a cup of excellent-tasting, sustainably sourced coffee FOUNDATION COFFEE HOUSE is the place to visit. Bright white tiled spaces with cool industrial interiors make for a chic backdrop for enjoying a coffee and a catch-up with friends.
Kerb
KERB is a neighbourhood natural wine store and bar. Their passion for supporting smaller producers and their enthusiasm for good wine is truly unmatched. They have superb selection, and expertise is very useful if you are looking for a good bottle (or two!).
Pollen Bakery
Ancoats- based bakery POLLEN specialises in sourdough bread & viennoiserie baked goods. It’s as good as it sounds, but make sure you get there early because queues mean they often sell out!
Mackie Mayor
If you are looking for top notch food in a top notch atmosphere, MACKIE MAYOR should be at the top of your list. Formerly Smithfield market, this grade II listed building is now home to nine independent kitchens & bars serving an eclectic mix of food and drink from around the globe, which is to be devoured in the lively, communal space.
The Edinburgh Castle Pub
Having stood proudly in Ancoats since 1811, EDINBURGH CASTLE PUB is a Manchester institution in our eyes. Serving elevated pub food, sunday roasts, great beers and an impressive array of whiskeys, you will not regret stepping foot in this historic spot.
Escape to Freight Island
Based on the concept of ‘escaping together’ ESCAPE TO FRIGHT ISLAND is an urban market and festival space with a range of vendors offering local and global bites (and plenty of drink options). With good food choices and endless entertainment you can certainly escape to freight island both day and night.
